Photographer in the Making
He’s not just my partner in crime (life) now, I can now say he’s a partner in my business as well! I’m so excited that my husband, Hunter has become the newest addition to Allison Nichole Photography!! I’ve been teaching him as much as I can for the past two months or so, and it’s been so great to be able to share my passion for photography with him! As many Saturdays as we had free time, we would go out and practice photographing any and every kind of lighting scenario I could think of and that was available at that time of day. I taught him about each lens I have, aperture, shutter speed, ISO, focusing modes, etc… I guess I had kind of forgotten how much there is to learn and how overwhelming it can be to take everything in within a few months time. He’s picked it up pretty well if I do say so myself! And he can speak my language now! Being able to have a full conversation about the technical side of photography with Hunter is very exciting to me. I know it sounds weird, but it’s my passion and knowing that he understands it now too is like music to my ears. I can now say something about my f/2.8 100mm macro lens and he knows what I’m talking about! 🙂
We’ve been training for Hunter’s first wedding as a second photographer, which was 2 weeks ago. He did such a great job! Photographing a wedding by yourself, much less carrying all the equipment and keeping track of time and making sure you get all the shots you need is no easy task. There is so much involved in being a wedding photographer and it made my heart happy and less stressed to have Hunter with me for Wil and Bethany’s wedding. He did such a great job and I’m already excited for the next one! I remember my first wedding and I can honestly say I was terrified. I was so worried I would miss something important and the couple would be disappointed. In the end, that wedding went well, they loved the photos and I learned so much from it. As I have with every other wedding since then. It’s definitely a learning process, but Hunter always picks things up so quickly and Wil & Bethany’s wedding was no exception. There are things we both need to work on to become more cohesive as a photography duo (this was my first wedding with a second shooter after all!), but overall I think it went wonderfully!
Here’s a few of my favorite images that Hunter captured from his FIRST wedding! I’m very impressed!
Photographing the ceremony!
A few others just because he’s handsome 🙂
