Our family just seems to keep growing each Christmas and this year we celebrated with a family of 6! For years it was just the four of us…Mom, Dad, Shannon and I. Four years ago, Josh entered our lives and now Hunter! Since I was young, I always wondered what it would be like when Shannon and I would both be married and we would be celebrating Christmas as a bigger family. Josh and Hunter have seamlessly entered into the Morris bunch and now I couldn’t imagine them not being a part of us.
A Morris Booth Johnson Family Christmas
One of my favorite parts about Christmas is decorating! I love seeing the transformation that takes place when the tree is up and the lights are hung. It just makes me want to break out in Christmas carols. This year though, my absolute favorite part was seeing 6 stockings hang over the fire place. Well, 7 if you count the dog (Sammy’s family too!). We all have our own personalized stocking, and this year we were able to add Hunter! It may just be a stocking to a lot of people, but to me it means the world that I’m married to the love of my life and that he’ll be celebrating Christmas with us every year.
For the past few years, we have all decided not to give gifts but to instead take a family vacation for Christmas. This year, we went to Disney World! Once we found out that Hunter had never been, it wasn’t hard to decide where to go. And of course we had to go to Magic Kingdom.
More than anyone else, I would rather vacation with my family. We always have a great time together, and it seems like we come home with our mouths hurting from laughing so much. Our trip this year was no exception. We arrived in Orlando on New Years day and we soon found out that our lodging reservations had fallen through. Thankfully a few hours later, an employee working at the resort we were staying at helped us get in contact with a wonderful rental company and we were definitely blessed with a wonderful house to stay in at the resort property. Until our visit to Disney on Monday, we found other ways of entertainment through indoor glow in the dark putt-putt and IKEA to name a few.
Monday was our Disney day and I honestly think I was more excited for Hunter’s first trip to Disney than he was. He was pretty excited though. We were there before it opened until the park closed at midnight. We definitely experienced as much as we possibly could in one day. We all went home yesterday and though we are exhausted, I think we can all agree that this was another successful family vacation. and I can’t wait to see what we will do next year! I never know what to fully expect from our family vacations, but one thing I can always count on is a lot of laughter. As long as I can remember, we have been a family who laughs together and Josh and Hunter have had no problem fitting in 🙂
