We’re Moving! | Our Next Adventure

This is one of my more personal posts that I’ve shared, but I want you all to know what mine and Hunter’s newest adventure has been and what we have been through to get to this point!
I have been waiting to share this until we made sure that we had everything lined up for our housing and we were 100% going to do this, so I can officially say that Hunter and I will be relocating to Wake Forest, North Carolina at the end of this year! Hunter is pursuing his Master of Divinity degree at Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary to become a pastor, so that is what is taking us to Wake Forest. There have been various people who have already heard about our move ask me how I feel about it, because those are the people who know how much I love my family and being near them as much as possible. So, as you can imagine this has been a very difficult process for me to handle, but I feel that I have come a LONG way from where I was and how I felt about this new adventure at the beginning of 2017…
Hunter and I have already experienced a lot in our 2+ years of marriage. I moved to Graceville, FL to be with Hunter right after we were married in June 2015. He has been in school there getting his Pastoral Ministry degree at The Baptist College of Florida. So, Hunter and I lived there for about 1 year, then moved to Enterprise, AL where we’ve been ever since, though Hunter has been commuting back and forth to Graceville for school. Hunter will be graduating this December and that means it’s now time for our next adventure!
Back in March, Hunter and I visited the campus of Southeastern in Wake Forest and though I knew that there was a strong possibility of us being there, I was fighting it in my heart…so badly. Taking that campus tour, talking to all the different people, looking at housing options, taking a tour around Wake Forest. I was fighting it. I did NOT want to be 10 hours from my family. I’m not big on change, and for those of you who already know me very well, you know that. It’s been hard enough moving around the little bit that I have. So, this is a HUGE change for me. I have never lived more than 4 hours from my family, and even when I was 4 hours away, I was still living with my sister so that helped a lot.
I’m trying not to let all of this overwhelm me, because I can easily let myself get to that point if I allow it. And believe me, I still have my moments. Ever since the campus tour in March, I have been preparing my heart to be there, because I knew as soon as we got in the car to come back home, that this is where we would be in December. And I am in a much better place about this move than I was then. I really had to take a step back from the entire situation and look at it from a positive standpoint. And there are a lot of positives still. North Carolina is one of the most beautiful parts of the country, I will get to experience ALL four seasons of weather for the first time in my entire life 😃, I will get to photograph in so many beautiful places, and I’m just overall excited about the experience that being up there will provide Hunter and I. So, because I have been preparing my heart for this move since March, I am more ready than I thought I would be. And that’s huge for me! What is really overwhelming me the most at this point is all of the needed steps that are to happen before we move and when we get there, as well as the whole financial aspect of it all.
Every time I get overwhelmed or start to worry, I always have to remind myself that God knows exactly where we are and He will provide and take care of us. Though my actions and thoughts may not always reflect this, I truly do believe that where God guides us, He will provide for us. And I know without a doubt that Hunter and I are supposed to move to North Carolina. Even though this will be very difficult, knowing that this is where God wants us to be makes it so much more comforting, because I would much rather be in His will and where he wants us to be than somewhere else just because it’s more comfortable.
Because we are relocating, I also have the added stress of relocating my photography business. But I know that God will provide in this as well, so I’m really trying my best not to worry about that. I am so excited about all of the new places and the scenery that I will be able to photograph and all of the people I will get to meet and work with up there! However, even though we are moving I will still be back and forth to the North Florida area as often as I possibly can be. It won’t be quite as often as I would like, but I do have 3 weddings next spring in the panhandle, so that will give me an excuse to visit a few times! 😃 I will try my best to let everyone know when I will be in the Florida area, so that I can book some portrait sessions if anyone is interested! I am absolutely willing to book more weddings in the North Florida area as well! 😃
Thank you to everyone who has been so supportive of Hunter and I during this process! It means so much to us! And I will update the blog and social media as much as I can with updates on our move and once we get up there!
